T4 Italian Cup 2024
The first edition of the T4 Italian Cup was held last weekend at the fantastic South Garda Karting venue to start an exciting new chapter. The conditions were challenging with severe rain on the race day but it still offered some brilliant racing throughout.
T4 Junior: Daniel Hartley looked like the man to beat from the outset taking pole position in the dry qualifying session and went on to win both qualifying heats in the rain. In the Final it was Truly Adams turn to challenge Hartley and after a brilliant race he took the flag in 1st position however, after a bumper penalty he was demoted to 2nd position. Hartley was the race winner, followed by Adams and it was a brilliant performance also by Luke Broadbent completing the podium.
T4 Senior: The Senior category was hotly contested with many capable drivers challenging for victory. Nicholas Renda put in a big lap to qualify in Pole Position and also took victory in Heat 1. Felix Furlan won Heat 2 on track, but after a bumper penalty it was Renda again that took the win. Furlan showed great skills in the wet weather conditions to claim a brilliant victory in the Final. There was some great performances also in the field with Massimo Dante making great progress to P2 only to receive a penalty which took his podium position away. Ruben Gastaldi was also extremely impressive setting fastest lap and taking the runner up spot, followed by Stefano Perseghin with another great performance.
T4 Senior+ (168): Two time T4 Nations Cup winner Andreas Matis was the man to beat all weekend and he proved his skills again with a clean sweep from Qualifying on pole position to winning the main Final! The German had competition from various drivers throughout but it was Marline pilot Gian Maria Gabbiani who was runner up from Moemen Ben Amor rounding out the podium with a great performance.
